Homeschool workshops

I have been trained in Montessori education and run the homeschool workshops based on these principles;

based on a child-centred approach, valuing the enjoyment of the process, having fun, and seeing where it takes each of us as individuals; where children are encouraged to grow as able and independent young people and take responsibility in caring for their environment. We have the opportunity to use high quality materials and equipment, including access to a printing press, and to have their glass creations fired in the studio's kiln.

Reviews

“I’d like to take this opportunity to say a huge THANK YOU for all the wonderful sessions, understanding, patience and always being so approachable . . . I feel like she’s learnt so much about herself as well as some amazing creative skills.” - Shaida (February 2023)

“My daughter loves going to the home ed art class each week. Hannah has created a calm work space where you instantly feel at ease. Each week my daughter is so excited to show me and tell me about everything she has made that session. I'd 100% recommend Flying Fish studios to others” - Lizzie (parent)

“He is loving art and asked me today when the next session is, so it's clear he really looks forward to it and is always really proud of the work he produces with you. Thanks so much for making these sessions available”. - Steph (parent, September 2021)

“It's a very nice atmosphere and the work equipment is really really really good. The activities are great and I look forward to coming every week” - Alex (Age 10)

FAQs

How is the Montessori approach to learning used?

Click here for a summary of the six key principles that I use in the studio:

Can my son/daughter have a trial session?

Absolutely! If your son/daughter hasn’t attended a homeschool workshop with us before, you are more than welcome to book a single ‘trial workshop’ to see if they enjoy it! If they decide to continue we can then sort payment out for the rest of the half-term block.

What if my child has an allergy?

You will be asked to complete a Personal Details Form which contains space for you to write any relevant medical information, including allergies. If any details change, please contact me so it can be updated. You may be asked to complete a Food Allergy Plan.

Please note that the studio is based in our family home and we have 2 pet cats who may come into the studio. If this is a problem, or if you have any concerns, please let me know.
